Trailing 4-2, the Mets score 4 in the 8th to take a 6-4 lead only to see Bobby Parnell give it back in the bottom of the 9th, as the Giants score 2 to tie. It almost ended there, but Rookie southpaw Josh Edgin struck out Marco Scutaro looking on a 3-2 heater right down the middle of the plate.
Scott Hairston, who homered off of Romo in the Met uprising in the 8th, homered again in the 10th, this time off of Santiago Casilla. The Mets tacked on an insurance run to lead 8-6 as they entered the bottom of the 10th.
Manny Acosta pitched the 10th, gave up 1 run and with the tying run on second and the winning run on first, got Brandon Belt on a drive to center field that was caught one step from the fence by Jordany Valdespin. Valdespin had come into the game as a pinch hitter for Andres Torres in the 8th inning and replaced him in CF as well.
Josh Edgin picked up his first Major League victory and Manny Acosta his first save of the season, as the Mets rally and then hold on to win the game 8-7.
A very exciting one here in Frisco, as the Mets open a 4 game series with the Giants.
